Final purchase for January

Final (I hope) purchase of the month is a TV guide costing 72p...

Hopefully, we won't need anything else until we get our Sainsbury's home delivery on 1st February which we are aiming to be within our budget of £55 per week. Start as we mean to go on 👍

DD came to lunch today unexpectedly so I jiggled the menu and we had pasta bake with garlic bread. It served the 3 of us admirably.  Thank heavens for the menu plan!  She did, however, bring us a millionaire's shortbread each 😁 Delish!

Thanks for popping in and stay safe wherever in the world you happen to be x

  1. Brilliant month, I've been good on our food budget, but we have had a couple bigger purchases.

  2. You are so good with your grocery budget. I have been spending a lot on food, but eating up everything, and really enjoying the delicious meals. I think it's important to have that pleasure during this pandemic.

  3. You've done really well this month, are you putting any leftover cash towards next month or saving it up. Or are you simply keeping spends as low as possible each month this year?

    1. Thank you Sue. The bulk of the savings is going into the emergency bank account with a small surplus carried forward. We really do need to recoup some of the savings we spent on buying the bungalow last September. I'll explain a bit more in the next post...
