Feeling Sad

I wanted this post to be upbeat and give details of February's challenge but.........I'm feeling so sad.

I heard a couple of weeks ago that my nephew and his wife have gone their separate ways after 10 years of marriage.  They have 2 small children of 4 and 5.  Yesterday I heard that her dad was diagnosed with cancer just a month ago and passed away 2 days ago.  I am gutted for her.  Why is life so unfair?

I'll be back with the post I had planned in a day or so.

Stay safe everyone wherever in the world you happen to be x

  1. It's always sad when a marriage breaks down isn't it, especially when there are small children involved. And life does seem to throw lots of other bad things our way when we can least cope with them.

I hope things work out for them both and that you can stop worrying.

  2. How sad about her father, and just when the couple had split up, hopefully your nephew will support her emotionally. We only heard recently that 2 of husband's nephews, both of whom we thought had strong marriages, have separated from their wives during this past year.

    1. I don't know why they split but I'm convinced that Covid and all the subsequent lockdowns played a part in it. Life has been so stressful for everyone hasn't it Sooze.

  3. I am so sad for them. Having lost my dear cousin in November, less than 3 weeks after her diagnosis, I understand the awful grief when it is so sudden - and covid rules seriously curtail visiting. And not to have your spouse with you, and two dear little children losing Grandad... Its all utterly heart-rending. My thoughts are with you all at this sad time. ❤️🙏❤️

  5. Yes, that's very painful. It's traumatic for the children. I hope you feel better soon. I think many marriages are hanging by a thread right now.

    1. Thank you, Stephenie, I'm sure the pandemic has had a lot to do with marital breakdowns.

  6. So sorry to read this. I hope that the two little ones have some extra love and care at this time when so many things that were familiar in their small world seem to be changing.
