I've Lost My Mojo!

G tootled off to work just after 6am this morning and won't be home until 4.30pm.  I got up to wave him off then went back to bed until 8am, the day looming empty and un-inspirational.  I have completely lost my mojo.  Before lockdown (BL) I used to relish the weekend to myself to shop, potter, craft and have the family to visit.  Now....what?...   I'm completely fed up of cooking, washing up, washing clothes, ironing, cleaning, bleaching, sanitizing.  I have absolutely NO inclination to wander around shops and supermarkets like I did BL, and of course we are again restricted from entering someone else's home or garden by local lockdowns and the Rule of 6.

I can't escape to the allotment because we only have one gate key and one shed key and G has taken them to work :(

I feel like a limp rag this morning.  WHERE ARE YOU MOJO!!

Is anyone else feeling like this?  How do you motivate yourself?

I'm following Sue Hall's Ration Challenge and she is such an inspirational woman that I feel ashamed to be so wet.  Anyway, the sun is beginning to peep out ( has the sun lost it's mojo too?) so I must make an effort to DO something.  A cup of tea first though......(Angie slinks shamefacedly away to the kitchen)

Stay safe everyone wherever in the world you happen to be x

  1. These feelings yoyo into my life, it's the constance threat of the virus, and the changing seasons, lockdown was great on sunny days in the garden.

  2. I have recently been through that 'no mojo' period but am thankfully back on the crochet and have got the jigsaws out again. I can't give you any tips except to say that it will be back. Maybe nature makes us just slow down sometimes to regenerate, lol
I'm trying my hardest to avoid any mention of the 'thing' no papers and not watching the news, after all we can't change things can we, so I'm being an ostrich, lol

  3. Everyone I know has been experiencing days like that lately - don't let it get you down too much. I do sympathize as reading about all the rotating and ever changing restrictions in the UK gives me a headache! We have roll backed indoor and outdoor gatherings a bit as of last night and we've been warned that there will be no more "educating" as regards the rules - from now on big fines will be levied.
Most people are good - we wear masks, lineup, follow the rules - but there are idiots everywhere and frankly, I hope they throw the book at the idiots!
We don't expect another full lockdown unless things get totally out of hand but they will clamp down on areas where infections are rising and I think that s fair. A city of 3million where I live is a totally different situation from the smaller city my brother lives in and the small rural town where my sister lives. This province alone is so big that they really do have to do things a bit differently in different areas and people have come to understand that.
I hope it won't be too long until you get to see your grandchildren again. Have a lazy day to yourself and just roll with it for now.

  4. Know just how you feel. I felt like that so I started a blog to give me motivation and accountability but it still hasn't happened. It seems all I want to do is read, sleep and do jigsaws on the computer. I keep trying to get to doing something but having had three lots of gout over four weeks it does stop me from doing anything physical. Pain also doesn't help it I have to concentrate on something. I keep saying next week I will get back to doing what I have to do so hope it happens. I'm sure you will recover your mojo soon - just relax until you do.

    Keep safe

  7. Difficult times which hopefully will get better. I have started to make a list each day to count my blessings, it is quite amazing how much of a difference it makes. Take care.

  8. Oh gawd ... don't worry about it, and you are most definintely NOT wet.

I think our mojos are just regularly going on little jaunts all by themselves. We have to grab them as they pass by and get them to stay a while whenever we can, we are living in such strange times even the mojos are confused.

Thanks for following my progress on the Challenge blog, I really appreciate it. It has been a busy and totally food obsessed week and after tomorrows round up I will be taking a few days off to have a think of the next Challenge. There's bound to be one ... if little mojo stays around ;-)

  9. I think it's harder for people who are used to spending more time with their family. My life is more solitary, so I am happy with my Labradoodle and pet chicken. The contact is important, though. We need it. I am able to chat with my neighbors and long distance friends on the phone, which helps. Hope you feel better. Maybe some delicious cooking and baking would help? That does it for me.

  10. I hope your mojo comes back and you can think of some enjoyable activities. It can be hard to get motivated, limited as we are in where we can go and who we can get together with.
