Just when I thought it was safe to put my head above the parapet and drag myself from the dark pit of anxiety, Covid has taken a pop. Both my Sister and her husband, who is in a care home, came down with it and my poor Sis has been left to suffer alone at home. My Niece pushed some paracetamol through the letterbox but Sis has been sleeping it off, not eating and just drinking water because I'm not close enough to help. She is 84 and in Woodbridge, Suffolk and I'm in South Staffordshire 😢
Then our Daughter's family all contracted it, one after the other so I haven't been able to see them for 2 weeks other than a distant chat when I dropped shopping and medication and test kits at the door. Have you seen the price of the test kits? 😰 Almost £10 for 5 so she needed 2 lots for the 4 of them.....
Thankfully, all are now on the mend which is a tremendous relief because our 16 yr old Grandson had only worked two days of a two month trial for a building firm when he tested positive. I'm so hoping he can get back on track.
Then DARN IT ! we woke up to this lovely little mound of earth in our back garden.....
Oh heck to the nasty C thing coming back - hope your sister is soon well again . I was listening to something on the radio and caught mention of numbers increasing in Suffolk especially in care homes although they did say this variant tends to be short-lived.
ReplyDeleteMy bedroom hasn't been too bad in this last spell of heat, being NE facing It's cooled down a lot by bedtime.
Thank you, Sue, she is feeling much better now although still weak. I feel better too now it's cooled off again!
DeleteYes, Covid numbers are going up here, too. I never stopped wearing a mask and I rarely go anywhere if I don't have to. I hope your sister and her husband and your daughter and her family recover soon. Be safe!
ReplyDeleteSorry to hear about a mole digging up your garden; hope the deterrent works to keep it away!
Thank you, Bless, mask wearing here has fizzled out. Covid I'd getting free reign once again...
DeleteHello Angie. I'm just starting to get back into blogging and came over for a catch up. I'm so sorry to hear that life has been causing so many anxieties for you and then Covid rears its head again! I do hope all the family are recovering speedily.
ReplyDeleteI'm glad though that your allotment has helped and been so productive. You seem to have had more than you fair share of wildlife , some more welcome than others!
The only bank in our village is closing too in November and I much prefer face to face where my money is concerned.
I do hope that things get brighter for you soon and send my love x
Beverley (formally meandmysmallcorner)
Thanks so much Beverley. Good to see you back x
DeleteCovid really is rearing it's nasty head again isn't it. I do hope your sister can manage.
ReplyDeleteNasty Mr Mole making a mess of your lovely lawn, we used to get lots of mole hills back in Wales but that was more paddock like ... although the lines of molehills right across the field was so annoying when we had to cut the grass, and downright dangerous when the ground collapsed above all their tunnels. Fingers crossed the deterrent works.
The deterrent doesn't seem to be working unfortunately. He's making a right old mess.
DeleteI know a lot of people here in the US have gotten Covid again, too. I have been masking all this time, and will update my vaccine in Feb. Hope you stay healthy and that your family members get better quickly.
