Stash To Cash Results

Just a quick post to report my total and therefore record it for future reference.  I had a small eBay craft sale of £11.85, £2.80 net at the last (pathetic) craft fair making a total of:

£191.67
Add to that my sealed pot total of                       £30.20

Grand total £221.87

I'm now calling it a day as far as the challenge is concerned.  The sum will be enough for Christmas gifts and I'm going gift shopping with DD next week.  For her family I'm buying a practical gift each (PJ's have been requested...yay! ) for which I need DD's input, plus a couple of surprises each to make up a gift bag.  This year has been so much easier to plan for than ever before so I might start another challenge in the new year.

I just have the food to sort out but will use my Nectar points for most of that.
How are your plans going? How many will you be catering for? There will be just 6 of us this year.

Thanks everso for popping in and stay safe wherever you are in the world x

  1. Our youngest daughter, her hubby and Will (almost 2), always come to our house, plus my brother, so 6, nice number. We are well into our plans this year.

    1. It's satisfying to be prepared early, isn't it Marlene. 6 IS a nice even number. I can't fit more than that around the table now anyway ;)

  2. There will be 3 of us on Christmas Day, and then 5 of us for our 'pseudo Christmas' on 5th January. I completed a furniture renovation this week as a joint gift for my elder daughter and her husband, and a hand knitted item for her. Gifts for her husband, and my Mum have been purchased and wrapped, so there's not much left for me to do.
Christmas Day will be very low key. My younger daughter works in hospitality and it will be very late when she finishes, so I imagine the early hours of Christmas Day will be spent collecting her and driving her home. Our elder daughter and her husband will be in Prague for Christmas; last year they were in Krakow, another year in Paris, hence the ' pseudo Christmas' in January.

  3. That's a good amount, well done. Christmas is a bit of a non-event for us, we don't really do anything.

    1. Thanks Sooze. Last year a non-event Christmas would have been very welcome (bereavements and illness) but I'm looking forward to the big day this year. I just hope we are not snowed in :/ Enjoy your quiet day x

  6. Our Christmas will as always be very low key. Hopefully we will see our daughter on Christmas Day as she won’t be going abroad as usual due to illness.DH and I support two local charities and the local food bank as our gifts. I’m making little handmade gifts for friends in re-usable packaging. I must do a challenge next year -I still have my christmas fairc stall to do at end of the month. Happy weekend.

    1. Sorry to hear that your daughter is unwell Catriona, hope she's much better soon. A great idea to donate to the food bank instead of gifts. Good luck at the craft fair x

  7. I'm not prepared at all! All I've got are a few nice cards for close family. We buy for 3 grown up kids plus their other halves, 2 granddaughters, my parents. I always do dinner but this year the kids go to their in-laws so it's just 4 of us (it's 10 plus 2 every other year)- however they've all invited themselves for tea!! Joy!

    1. Christmas decorations in the shops go up far too early, I agree Briony. Crafters have to begin early but Christmas music at the end of October is silly x

  9. I love practical gifts. I just give my family and friends my homemade soap for Christmas. Everyone always requests it. Am getting started on the holiday baking, which I enjoy. I can't wait to start putting up the decorations!

    1. Homemade soap sounds wonderful. I've never tried making it myself. Decorations go up in our home on December 1st in plenty of time for Christmas :) x

  11. To be honest i love to give luxury items at christmas , Things that people would not have bought for themselves, all bought online due to disabilities but i have found lots of discount codes and bought in pre christmas sales , we only have us two at christmas dinner now as our daughter and her husband spend christmas dinner on their own too to stop any arguments but we have a lovely afternoon gift giving when they come to ours midday xxx
