To The Doubters

Firstly, a very warm welcome to Barbara, it's lovely to meet you 😊

Just a short post today folks.

A family member (family by marriage and whom I never see in person) was very vocal about the stupidity of having to socially distance.  It's been confirmed that she, her husband and young step-daughter have all tested positive for the virus, that's 3 out of 4 members of the same family.  She is feeling very ill...

The local news feed on my phone has just let me know that an outbreak has been declared at the local 111 call centre which is about 2 miles away.  3 members of staff went on holiday together and contracted the virus.  The result is that 16 other members of staff are now in self isolation. That's 19 members of staff being unavailable to work because 3 people 'needed' a holiday WTF.....

I will wear a mask everywhere I shop

I will continue to wash my hands on a regular basis and

I will give space to others

It's the least I can do...

Stay safe everyone, wherever in the world you happen to be x

  1. Good post, I'm fed up hearing how unfair things are, all I can think is get your big pants on and follow the rules. Hope your family members are doing well.

  2. We live about 20 miles from Nottingham, a place and a few other closer areas which are moving to Tier 3 very shortly. If only people would follow the rules - they're not rocket science! The amount of people I see with masks around their necks amazes me - what's the point!!!

    1. If everyone would follow the rules then we might stand a chance of beating this virus. Unfortunately so many people think the rules don't apply to them

    2. There is growing discontent with the restrictions and more and more people believe it's a hoax. If only they could see first hand what's happening inside hospitals. One of the internet doubters in the USA died after releasing a short statement from his hospital bed confirming it was very real!!!

  3. Well said! This is what people don't seem to grasp - it's not just those infected - it's all the other they have been in contact with who must now isolate - can't go to school - can't work etc. etc. It's the knock on effect that is so difficult to contain!
Honestly - what is so difficult about wearing a mask - it's such a small thing to do and make such a difference!

  4. I agree. It frustrates me when people try to get too close to me. I don't understand those who don't take this virus seriously.

  5. We have taken care since the first lock down, we don't like it, but we don't want the virus... those people who are denying that there is a virus pandemic are unbelievably stupid. And as for the people in Wales complaining that they can't buy certain non food items, its only for 2 weeks so what's the problem?

  6. I am doing my part, as a senior citizen, by staying home and away from people. My adult sons visit me frequently, so my sanity is saved! If you can stay out of stores, do. I mainly get my groceries delivered. What a long slog this is.

  7. We are now up to 50 people in my little corner of the province. I wear my mask and now when I get an eye roll or a comment I just glare at them. Protecting your self and others is the only way we are going to beat this.

    God bless.

  8. Around 500 cases per 100,000 where I live, and cases up over 20% since last week. There's no wonder figures are rising throughout the country when you see the behaviour of some, and it's people of all ages, often interpreting the rules to suit themselves, or saying that they don't understand them. I've heard/read educated, professional people saying this; people who have access to the internet, and could use the Gov.uk website to find out exactly what the rules are instead of mixing households at whim.
