Pulling Up My Big Girl Knickers

Thank you to everyone for your lovely supportive comments on my last post. I have now deleted it because I don't want it to be part of my diary. I want to be hopeful not hopeless 👍

Poor G's health has taken a downward spiral over the last 18 months and he is finding that stairs are not the ideal thing to cope with so we are, hopefully, moving to a bungalow. As I have a lot to sort out (yes, me... G leaves all paperwork and phone calls to me 😳) I will be taking a blogging break. I'll still be lurking, reading other blogs and commenting though.

Until then, take care and stay safe wherever in the world you happen to be x

  1. Sorry to hear thatG's health is deteriorating which seems to point to another house move, but I was wondering if it might be easier to install a stairlift into your present home. They can be bought on eBay at a much lower price than new ones, or even rented/hired. Might be worth some research? Whatever you do, I wish you well and hopefully you might be able to pop into your blog now and again.

    1. Thank you, Rambler, but we need somewhere quieter and within easy walking distance of the shops. A move is inevitable, I think.

  8. Yes, stairs are difficult but we have 2 stair lifts. One for the main stairs and one up to the bedrooms.
We would ideally love a bungalow but I think they will take us out of here feet first, lol

  11. Yes, it sounds as though you are going to be very busy over the next couple of months, take care. Single level living has a lot of advantages, but I keep my 'stair legs' by going upstairs for a cup of coffee at our local Booths ... well that's my excuse 😃

  15. Wow, I'm sorry you have to move. That's so stressful. I'm also sorry that your husband's health has deteriorated. Life can be very difficult during these transitions. I have kept my cottage for these very reasons. I know that stairs can become very difficult or impossible. Best of luck to you...

    1. Thank you so much, Stephenie, I'm hoping that peace & quiet will help us both once the move has been sorted too. We could have installed a stair lift sometime in the future but we would still have had the problem of a disrespectful neighbour. We don't need that x
