Have you looked at Una's blog at http://bagsofwool.blogspot.co.uk, she also knits for charity so you may pick up some ideas for suitable charities to knit for, otherwise there may be something on one of the knitting for charity websites such as http://www.ukhandknitting.com/knitting_for_charity.php. A google search may throw up opportunities in your local area which will avoid the cost of postage.
Your local hospital may take hand knits for maternity or preemie size, but it's worth checking with them first. Our local hospital used to take handknits for the special care baby unit but no longer take them as now that they've outsourced the washing in order to keep on top of infection control everything has to be washable at 70 degrees. However our local children's ward take hand knitted teddies to give to their patients for being brave. It may be worth a few phone calls to investigate the possibilities. Sorry not to be more helpful. maybe a car boot stall in the better weather & give your proceeds to a charity. Have fun knitting. Looking forward to finding out what you decide to do, best wishes, Vee xveeknits19https://www.blogger.com/profile/16289644776490481108noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-170481308375173858.post-37132612554953704172015-02-14T16:42:52.162+00:002015-02-14T16:42:52.162+00:00pick a local charity and donate to their shop to s...pick a local charity and donate to their shop to sell?
ps/ i hate cleaning my blinds, how do you do yours? do you have a special gadget?Anjiedothttps://www.blogger.com/profile/13166553048627765354noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-170481308375173858.post-26984634862651261982015-02-14T16:06:43.799+00:002015-02-14T16:06:43.799+00:00How about your local Friends of the hospital, or i...How about your local Friends of the hospital, or if you knit small, the prem baby unit.Poppypatchworkhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/12749159567150084975noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-170481308375173858.post-16828875856180941072015-02-14T15:25:25.574+00:002015-02-14T15:25:25.574+00:00We have blinds in the spare room, but I try to cle...We have blinds in the spare room, but I try to clean them once a week so they don't get too bad, I have washing out today, it's drying nicely, Instead of taking all unwanted clothing now to the charity shops I have been putting some in the clothing banks, I think they send it over to third world countries or send it out when there is a disaster.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.com
